Animal Rescue Resources

  • Rehoming a Pet: We often receive inquiries from people looking for assistance in finding a new home for a cat or other pet.

  • Lost Pets and Found Pets: Any vet can check for a microchip free of charge. Some are open evenings, and some on Saturday and Sunday (Banfield Pet Hospital). There are also several local Facebook groups dedicated to returning lost pet to their owners: Pets of Prior Lake & Savage, Scott County Minnesota Lost/Found Cats.

  • Wildlife: We have created a safe space dedicated to rehabilitating orphaned and injured wildlife, so they can be released back into the wild.

  • Affordable Resources: MNSNAP has compiled a fantastic list of affordable resources and links. Not yet on their list is Furball Farm’s new program in Faribault.

  • Windmill Feed & Pet Supply: Our unique pet and feed store is located just south of the Twin Cities in Elko New Market, MN. Farm feed, plus domestic pet food and supplies are available. Many of Windmill Animal Rescue’s pets are housed in the shop. We welcome visitors who are interested in adopting.

  • Adoption Events: Windmill Animal Rescue doesn't take their animals to adoption events, but many organizations do. Pet Supplies Plus, Petco and PetSmart welcome various shelters to hold adoption events.
